See the links below for more information regarding the City of Columbiana's response to COVID-19.
The City of Columbiana Environmental Services performs all of the daily operations of the Waste Water Treatment Plant. This facility which has the capacity of treating 0.944 million gallons purifies/cleans the sewage to an acceptable standard that is mandated by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. The department has thirteen lift stations which are used due to topography of the land to pump the sewage to a gravity flow sewer line to the Waste Water Treatment Plant. The personnel perform cleaning of the main sewer line, lift stations, and taking video images of the main sewer line.
Environmental Services Office hours of operation are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday. For emergencies or problems during work hours we can be contacted at 205-669-5814 and after hours 205- 229-6508 or contact the Police Department at 205-669-5800.
If you have a lateral sewer line that is not flowing contact Environmental Services before you call a plumber. The department will come out and determine if the problem is on your side or the cities.
